After he changes to color he realizes that change is good and has to get used to them. Johnson Jeff Daniels is the soda shop owner in Pleasantville. He always relied on Bud to do things for him to run the soda shop before he could do anything himself. He also has a big fascination with painting and artwork. When things start to change he finds art more desirable because he can now see them in color.

Johnson's character is submissive and doesn't like confirtation even when changes are being made in Pleasantville. Again Mr. Johnson and Betty Parker have a close relationship with one another and Johnson enjoys painting her portraits.

Big Bob J. Walsh is the mayor of Pleasantville. His character is the guy who everyone goes to, to talk about the changes going on in the town.

He is an arrogant guy who tries to keep control over everyone. When he sets rules it causes riots to happen during the changing times in Pleasantville. Big Bob is not acceptable of change until the court scene in the movie when David "Bud" calls him out on thing in Pleasantville and he turns to color. She is a sweet girl who cares about people. She is the cheer captin at her school in Pleasantville.

She helps david open up and learn how to talk to girls. Where she becomes Mary Sue Parker. The daughter of the titular Parker family. Unlike David, she has no knowledge of the show and relies on David to get to know the characters. She was initially bummed out, until she shows interest in Skip Martin. The love interest on the show. Her attempts to shake things up on the show are what kick start the events that cause the monochromatic society to slowly transition into technicolor.

A house wife who at first was content with everything the way it is, but when Jennifer takes Mary Sue's place as her daughter, she is the first in the family to be taught things beyond pleasant. Which in turn makes her one of the first citizens of Pleasantville turn technicolor.

The Patriarch of the Parker Family. A man who's life is composed of formula and routine. Wondering where everything went wrong. The Mayor of Pleasantville and head of the Chamber of Commerce. He serves as the closest thing to a primary antagonist. While he comes across as nice and laid back, underneath he's stubborn to the status quo that he's willing to do anything to keep it that way. A soda shop owner and Bud's boss on the show. Also one of Bud's friends. Jennifer introduces the world of sex to the town through her encounter with him.
